Jessica
A true story
I work for a lady that has four dogs. They all have their own little personalities, but Jessica is my favourite. One day Jessica was not looking her usual bright self, so Brenda, her owner, decided that she should go to the Vets to be checked over .An appointment was made for 6 o’clock the following evening. Unfortunately, Brenda suddenly remembered that she would not be able to take her to the Vets, as she was due to attend an appointment in London herself. She telephoned me in a real panic and asked me if I would be kind enough to take Jessica for her, and of course I said yes.
I arrived in plenty of time to collect Jessica and take her for her Vet’s appointment. Brenda had left a contact telephone number where I could get hold of her, as she wanted to know as soon as possible what the Vet had to say about Jessica.
I put Jessica on the front passenger’s seat of my car and then got into the driver’s seat. She kept watching me all the way to the Vets. I think she knew where she was going and probably didn’t want to go.
The Vet was very nice to Jessica so she needn’t have worried. The Vet said that he couldn’t find anything wrong with her and suggested that it may be just the warm weather that was making her feel uncomfortable. Happy with that, I carried Jessica back to my car and drove her home.
I contacted Brenda straight away and told her not to worry and told her what the Vet had said. She thanked me for all my help.
As I was leaving Brenda’s house to go home, I looked back into the garden and all of the dogs, including Jessica, were running around chasing and barking at each other. I think the Vet was right and Jessica was just hot!
